As part of the Travel Plan, there is a requirement to monitor the uptake of sustainable travel over a five-year period. This monitoring will inform the success against the targets which are to be agreed with Hertfordshire County Council.

Formal monitoring will be undertaken through the distribution of a travel questionnaire survey, co-ordinated by the TPC. The first questionnaire survey will be undertaken by the TPC after 50% occupation of the site, or 12 months after first occupation of the first home (whichever is sooner) and then annually for up to five years. These surveys will determine the level of different forms of travel undertaken by residents and will help understand any barriers to particular types of travel. The results from these monitoring surveys will be reviewed and Monitoring Reports will be produced to understand the effectiveness of the Travel Plan which will allow for any changes to be made.
